I believe that great family photography should be accessible to everyone so I have created two types of family photoshoot depending on your needs.
Option 1: The bespoke full family photoshoot
Perfect if you want everyone included. Grandparents, parents, siblings, children and even the dog. This longer session gives us plenty of time to create a wide variety of photographs, from big group shots to smaller combinations, so every family member has their moment. It is a relaxed experience with space for natural moments as well as more classic portraits.

Option 2: The mini family photoshoot
Designed for smaller (immediate member) families who want a smaller collection of images. These shorter sessions are ideal if you just want to refresh the photos on your walls or capture a particular stage of life without committing to a full shoot. Minis take place on set dates and times, which keeps them simple to plan and easy to book.

I’m Camberley photographer, Nina Mace
I have been photographing families across Hertfordshire and Surrey for the past 15 years. During that time I have worked with hundreds of families, from tiny newborns to lively teenagers, and I know how important it is to capture each stage before it slips by.
My style is relaxed and colourful, with a focus on outdoor photography. I love photographing families as they really are, with laughter, play and genuine connection. While my work has won awards and been featured in national publications, what matters most to me is that your photographs feel personal and meaningful. I want you to look back on them in years to come and remember not just how you looked, but how it felt to be together.

Because I also train other photographers, my diary fills quickly and family shoots are often booked 3 to 4 months in advance. If you already have a special date in mind, it is best to get in touch early so we can reserve it for you.

The bespoke full family photoshoot
The full bespoke shoot is exactly that, designed around your family’s wishes. You choose the location and timing, with my guidance if you would like recommendations. After 15 years photographing families in Surrey and the surrounding areas, I know plenty of beautiful spots that work in every season.
These sessions are a brilliant way to celebrate a milestone birthday, an anniversary or a rare family get-together. They can include grandparents, parents, siblings, children and even the family dog. Many of the larger families I meet tell me the last time they were all in one place was at a wedding, which makes these shoots even more special.
With more time, we can capture a lovely mix of group photographs and smaller combinations, so everyone has images they will cherish.

Most family shoots last up to 90 minutes but if we need a little extra time to capture the whole family then no problem

The mini family shoot
The mini family photoshoot is perfect if you would like a quick update for your walls or a thoughtful gift for a loved one. These shorter sessions are designed for immediate families and of course your four-legged friends are always welcome.
Mini shoots run on set dates throughout the year. Spaces are limited, so joining the waitlist is the best way to hear about new dates as soon as they are released.
You can also purchase a mini shoot as a gift voucher, valid for 12 months, making it a simple and meaningful present for family or friends.

Top questions about family photography
When will my images be ready after the shoot?
It takes on average 2 weeks to send your images to view but if for any reason you might need them urgently please let me know at the time of booking.
What happens if it rains?
It’s certainly possible knowing our UK weather! If the rain is on and off we will still go ahead and allow a little more time. I might also suggest a location which I know has shelter. If its going to be a total wash out Nina will be in touch to arrange a new date.
What if you need to cancel?

How many family members can I bring to the shoot?
A mini family shoot is for immediate family (Mum, Dad, Kids and dogs) . If you wish to include Grandparents, Aunties and Uncles then a bespoke family photoshoot is ideal
What should we wear?
Ahead of the shoot, I will send you a video with inspiration of what to wear. I am also more than happy for you to send phone photos of your outfits if you would like additional help.
What is it like to work with Nina?
Nina is an experienced Camberley photographer with over 12 years photographing local families.
She will make sure the shoot is lots of fun and will have considered the best location for you and your family.
How do we choose a location?
As a Camberley photographer, Nina has spent many hours finding new locations on her daily dog walks. Camberley has some incredible locations and Nina can advise on the best place to shoot including lakes, woodland and urban spaces.
How long should a family photoshoot be?
A family photoshoot would ideally be between 60 – 90 minutes.
If the shoot went on much longer than this you may find small children can get a bit fidgety. An experienced location photographer will be able to shoot against a number of different backdrops and photograph many different poses in this amount of time.
