Another outdoor photo session in Boxmoor…

My outdoor sessions over the Summer have proven very popular and I met 4 families on one day up at the Boxmoor Trust in Hemel Hempstead. Mum booked the session and asked that I get a photo of the 3 of her children together…she had pre-warned me that she had hardly any images and that  they didn’t like to sit together.  We had a really fun session and in the end got mum to act like a monster and come up behind me to get all 3 of the kids into one shot and it worked 🙂

July outdoor family photo session in Hemel Hempstead

Well its been a busy month and I haven’t had a chance to blog all of my outdoor family photo sessions from July. This was the third session of the day with 2 gorgeous kiddies who smiled and were so happy for our entire session. The family even bought their dog and would you believe he even sat in for the photos. We started off at the top of the Boxmoor Trust park forest and went through the woods in search of the Gruffalo. We didn’t manage to find him but we did find his house at the edge of the woods and the kids had a great time exploring 🙂

Location hunting with my kids :-)

Every so often I ask (by that I mean bribe :-)) my kids to come out with me for the evening to test a location. One night I wanted to go up to Heartwood Forest late into the afternoon to see how it looked around the golden hour. The kids had a great time just running around and we also met up with my friend Stephanie, who is also a photographer, checking out the light for her session the following evening. My daughter took a bit of a liking to her husband and spent a while making him pick flowers (not very manly!). As you can see after about 30 minutes they had had enough and resorted to being crazy..see the final photo that’s a keeper!! 🙂

Meet the winners of my family portrait competition…:-)

You may remember I ran a competition in the Summer to win a free outdoor family portrait session. I had a huge number of entries and the winner was also lucky enough to also win cupcakes from Cake Stories by Lauren (visit her Facebook page here ) and shoe vouchers from Hippity Hop Shoes (visit the shops Facebook page here). The cupcakes were given to Zoe on her actual session and I had 10 minutes to take some photos of them before they arrived…how great do they look? (and they  taste great too I will tell you from personal experience :-))

The session took place at one of my favourite locations in Hemel Hempstead – a local forest which has gorgeous fields around and  board walk running through the trees. There is also a little house on the far side made from logs which we call the Gruffalo’s house.

Some of my favourite images from the session are shown below – Don’t forget to like my Facebook page to be kept up to date with my next competition due to launch later this year! Nina

Outdoor photo session in Hemel Hempstead

One of things I love most about my job is I get to meet with the same families year after year. I first met the twins when they were a few months old. I then photographed their 1st birthday and christening and a few weeks ago we had a session to celebrate their impending second birthdays. We took some photos at home and then went out to a local field close to their home to let them run off some steam. Some of my favourite images are shown below.
