Last month I ran a day of outdoor sessions in Hemel Hempstead and Elizabeth contacted me for a session for her, and her extended, family. The family included her sons and daughters and it was also an opportunity to get photos of the 5 grand children.
It had been threatening to rain all week but we were really lucky and at the last moment it cleared up. As I work a lot outdoors, I try to make sure that even if we have light rain on the day of the shoot, we have options. At this location we had a barn area and a forest which is so well covered we wouldn’t get wet.
The grandchildren were 4 boys and a girl, and the boys were at that age where having their photos taken is so “not cool”. We took a relaxed walk through the woods so they could get to know me a bit and then we stopped to take some photos. Once the boys got into the swing of things they were great and we got some lovely natural portraits of them just laughing and smiling.
