I love photographing outdoors and one of the places I like to visit with customers is Heartwood Forest which is just outside of St Albans. The site itself is 858 acres and is part of a project which started many years ago to transform the site into the largest new continuous native forest in England. Incredibly, it takes just 12 years to turn bare land into flourishing native woodland, complete with a diverse range of wildlife and towering trees.
Each year they run a competition for images taken in the forest and I was really pleased to find out I had been awarded 1st prize.
